Weekend Continued

I mentioned yesterday that we went on a little weekend getaway for Emma's fourth birthday. It was a 4 hour drive which means we usually have to stop twice for potty breaks (sad, I know). One of the rest areas on the way had this fun tire swing and all four of the kids had a blast on it!
After spending time at a water park we went to spend a day at my sister-in-law's house. They have I-don't-know-how-many acres of land. A lot! It is picturesque and beautiful as you walk from the house down by a little pond and then up to where their sheep hang out. Then you get to the top of a hill with a gorgeous view of a lake and finally stumble onto a cute metal roofed shelter overlooking a huge paintball field!

Here's a quick picture of Henry as we were walking to watch the paintball action. I don't think he fully understands the concept of blowing on the little puffy white weeds to see the seeds float into the air. The goofy kid kept trying to eat them and then would spend several minutes trying to get the seeds out of his mouth! But...of course...he'd think he could try it again only to get more seeds in his mouth. Ha, ha! (Oh and...yes...we shaved his head. Probably not something we'll do again since his hair is so light you can't tell he has any.)
We finally made it to the paintball field and caught the guys heading out to play. They were pretty serious!
The view from the top of the hill was perfect because you could see both teams get in position behind different kinds of cover...and you could see who was getting shot and who was attacking. Pretty fun...until the next day when the welts from where the paintballs hit start showing themselves. Ouch!

Elliott begged to play and couldn't. But he did get to try shooting a couple times and loved it!
It's a good thing we don't have a lot of land or I think my hubby's next project would be building a paintball field too! :)
